Greetings Neighbors!

We are looking forward to a very busy spring!

Tobin Hill Community Association has several exciting events coming up in the next few months, including a District 1 Candidate Forum, our first ever Fiesta after-party event, and this month’s general neighborhood meeting!

The Social Committee working on our neighborhood-wide Fiesta event, Tobin de Mayo, is looking for volunteers. Make sure to come to the March 28th meeting for details.

The owner of the house at 233 E Craig has contacted THCA and requested a meeting with all interested residents. He has stated that he would be happy to answer any questions regarding the property and any future plans. Neighborhood feedback is very important to ensure a project that is compatible with the surrounding area that benefits the community as a whole.

San Antonio College will host a special Groundbreaking Ceremony for the future Early Childhood Center and Santikos Micronauts Center.

The City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation received demolition applications for the structures at:

804 E Euclid; click for photos
430 & 434 E Magnolia; click for photosThe structures aren’t currently designated, and City staff is reviewing the properties and applications. They will hold the demolition applications for 30 days (until March 28 for 804 E Euclid and April 5 for 430/434 E Magnolia).

The demolition applications for 307 & 311 E Evergreen are currently on hold while they are under review for historic significance.

Housing Programs
The Neighborhood and Housing Services Department offers several home repair and energy efficiency programs for income-qualified homeowners. Applications are being accepted for the following programs:

  • Under 1 Roof
  • Let’s Paint
  • Minor Repair Programs
  • Green and Healthy Homes

Committee Meetings:

THCA’s  Zoning and Development Committee meets bi-weekly (as needed) to review upcoming planning and zoning cases in the neighborhood. The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 26th at 6:30PM. Please contact Zoning and Development Chairperson, Rick Schell, to confirm the location of the meeting.

THCA’s Historic Preservation Committee meets monthly to discuss cases scheduled to go before the City’s Historic Design Review Commission. The next meeting will be Monday, March 25th, at 6:30PM. Please contact Committee Chair, Ricki Kushner, for meeting location details.
