Our Values
Transparent & Inclusive
The Tobin Hill Community Association (THCA) began with seven neighbors around a dining room table. Each of them held the belief that something great would begin in Tobin Hill if they could create a nonprofit community association that for the first time would be able to bring resources into our community, operate transparently and be inclusive of all Tobin Hill's stakeholders.
Members of the Tobin Hill Community Association worked together with the City of San Antonio, neighborhood business owners, residents, and other neighborhood stakeholders to create the Tobin Hill Neighborhood Plan. This plan was adopted by the City of San Antonio in 2008. It includes goals, recommendations, and strategies for the preservation, restoration, and future development of our neighborhood, and serves as a guide for residential and commercial planning and zoning decisions, and infrastructure improvements in Tobin Hill.
THCA received its status as a Texas Corporation in September 2008, approved bylaws and elected its first Board of Directors in January 2009, and received its federal nonprofit status in May, 2009.
